Privacy
Privacy, In Plain Language
What we collect. Only what you type into a form on the Send the Tea page: your name, email, and the details of your tip, event listing or advertising inquiry. Browsing this site does not require an account and we do not ask for passwords, payment details or government IDs — never send those.
How forms reach us. Form submissions are delivered to our editorial inbox through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-delivery service. Your submission passes through their servers to reach our email. We use it only to read, verify and follow up on your submission.
Uploaded files. Videos and photos you upload directly on the Send the Tea page go from your browser to the Internet Archive (archive.org) — they do not pass through this website, and archive items are public: anyone with the link can view them. The upload form warns you about this before you upload. If your material is sensitive, send it by private link (Google Drive / Dropbox) instead — link submissions stay between you and the newsroom, and video we publish runs on our YouTube channel.
What we never do. We do not sell your information. We do not publish your email address. If you submit a video or tip and ask to stay anonymous, your name is not published.
Links out. This site links to official sources (city, transit, venues, news outlets). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Ask or delete. To ask what we hold about you, or to have a submission and its details removed, send a request through the Send the Tea page and we will handle it.
